Know The Qualifying Criteria For Mesothelioma Clinical Trials
With the spreading of the disease of mesothelioma, various clinical trials of mesothelioma are being organized to combat the disease. But there are different phases of mesothelioma clinical trials and there are different sets of guidelines in every trial and that is determined only by the level of experiment or medication that is to be conducted by the trial. In medical terms, these conditions or criteria are often described as exclusion or inclusion criteria.

Inclusion criteria of a clinical trial mean those factors which may allow a patient to attend mesothelioma clinical trials and exclusion ones signify those for which the patient cannot participate. These criteria is based on the following factors like age and gender of the patient, physical health of the applicant and what is the type of cancer from which the patient is suffering. The treatment history of the patient is also taken into consideration when he or she is applying for clinical trials for mesothelioma.

It has been observed that some mesothelioma clinical trials prefer to take those patients who are not responding to any other previous treatment and new types of experiments and drugs are tried on them. Some clinical trials want to take the patients who have not yet been treated in the past and they are also considered as good subjects in those trials.

These clinical trials take place in three phases. In the first phase, dosage, safety and side effects of a treatment are considered. Second phase involves more people and tries to see how much effective is the treatment. Third phase tries to confirm how much effective is the treatment.
